Biografia
As a Research Fellow of the National Research Council of Italy at the Institute for Population and Social Policy Research (CNR-IRPPS), I mainly work on social statistics and gender studies. I deal with gender differences in Research and Innovations, mainly from an organisational-structural perspective (e.g., Gender Equality Plan) and gender mainstreaming (e.g., Gender Budgeting). Within these activities, I am cultivating an interest in gender studies from a male perspective, studying the effect of gender stereotypes at the individual, societal, and public policy levels and how they act as a brake for greater gender equality. In addition, I look after all statistical phases of qualitative and quantitative surveys, from research design to data analysis and storage.
My research interests with the PhD programme concern contemporary male fertility in Europe and specifically in Italy, fostering an intersectional approach between demography and gender studies. Starting from the Gender Revolution and the Incomplete Revolution but analysing the phenomenon with feminist perspectives, my work aims at identifying the determinants of male fertility to investigate which are the reproductive choices of the dominant gender. Such new information will help to explain the recent demographic decline and provide essential insights for policymakers.
